New Moon Energy 🌑
At the time of a new moon each month, the sun and the moon meet up in the same section of the sky. This phase of the lunar cycle is associated with fresh starts, planting seeds, and new projects. It is the perfect time in the lunar cycle to set intentions and manifest what you want to grow. This new moon is supportive for setting intentions surrounding Cancer themes: family (chosen or biological), nurturance, protection, care (of self and others), emotions, intuition, and safety.
New Moon in Cancer Facts
On Wednesday, June 25, we welcome a GORGEOUS new moon in Cancer at 4 degrees. Check your chart to see if you have any placements around 0-10 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, and Libra. Anyone with placements near these degrees in cardinal signs will feel the impact of this new moon quite personally. The ruler of this new moon is the moon, positioned with the sun and VERY close to Jupiter in Cancer.
The sign of Cancer is a place that feels like home to the moon which means the moon can function at its highest vibration. The moon is also making a supportive aspect to Mars in Virgo. It is making challenging aspects to Saturn and Neptune in Aries, naturally. We have been dealing with this Cancer/Aries tension for a bit, so it is nothing new. On Sunday (6.22), the sun in Cancer directly squared Saturn in Aries. On Monday (6.23), it directly squared Neptune in Aries. I like that these aspects, while still present with the new moon, are beginning to separate. I believe the challenges of these aspects will feel less heightened because of the separation. Plus, Jupiter has a way of being pretty loud, possibly loud enough to drown out these squares for a bit. The full moon in Cancer will occur on January 26, 2026. Anything we seed right now is likely to be in full bloom by the time of that full moon.
The Influencers: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Mars
The energy surrounding this new moon is auspicious. It feels regenerative and blessed. The things we seed this week have extra fertile ground for growth. Of course, nothing abundant can come to us without some hard work. We should expect some obstacles, but I want us to remain focused on the fact that growth takes time. While hard work, confusion, and delays may be involved in the new chapter that will begin to unfold this week, the seeds we plant right now are fortified with blessings and goodness. This is a new moon that wants us to dream big and plant seeds that can grow into a bountiful and nourishing tree that is life-giving. Cancer is a cardinal water sign connected with care, protection, and nurturance in the emotional and internal realms of life. Don’t just feel it though. Make sure to write down and speak your intentions into existence. Share your intentions with others.
Since Cancer is ruled by the moon, a new moon in Cancer is always a beautiful new beginning centered around the people and things we love. The blessings of this year’s new moon in Cancer are amplified because Jupiter is nearby. There is a Jupiter cazimi on Tuesday (11:17am ET), just a day before the new moon. A cazimi occurs when a planet meets up with the sun, quite literally sitting “in the heart” of the sun. This moment ushers in a fresh cycle in the storyline of Jupiter. Remember that Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, allowing it to bring in the highest vibrations of Jupiterian energy: abundance, luck, and opportunity. I like that the cazimi is occurring as Jupiter is separating from the squares to Saturn and Neptune, which brought us more difficult energy over the last two weeks. In addition, Jupiter will just be one degree away from the new moon, so this expands the prosperity of the new moon energy. It helps us keep the faith that blessings are on their way to us.
SPECIAL NOTE: Since I love to work with cazimi energy (I started this business on a Venus cazimi), I have a special announcement coming out later today at the time of the Jupiter cazimi. I am sharing this news with my Substack subscribers first because I love this cosmic corner so much.
It can be difficult to hold faith in something when you are just at the start. Believe me, I understand this, so deeply. Yet, I find that harnessing faith is so important, especially when we can’t fully see the path ahead. This is especially true when we know we may face unknown obstacles or when we feel frustrated by the fact that seeds take time to grow. Sometimes growth can’t be seen at the start because all the action is happening under the soil, in a place our eyes can’t see. It’s hard for us to not get impatient while knowing we must wait for something good to arrive.
This is the energy that is lingering with the new moon and its challenging communication with Saturn and Neptune in Aries. We have no choice right now but to work with what we have and to really focus on the desires we truly care about right now, trusting that we will be resourced in the future because of the effort we put forth right now. Remember that the blessings are more likely to flow in when we are deeply rooted in something that is centered around caring for ourselves and each other. This is the time to take action that is centered in the heart. This is the time to believe that your dream is possible. I am so excited for all of us.
This new moon is also communicating in an energizing way with Mars in Virgo, currently at 4 degrees. I like this aspect because it adds a layer of confidence and drive to whatever we are beginning under this new moon energy. I also feel that it will bring in some elements of clarity that may have been missing for a bit, due to the series of Cancerian squares to Neptune in Aries. Without a doubt, this link to Mars in Virgo will likely have us feeling more productive and better able to put in the work and effort that we know is part of this new growth cycle we are beginning.
Practical Application
Keep in mind, that we just closed a lunar cycle that began with the new moon in Gemini on May 26. During that lunar cycle, we welcomed in new experiences, people, and ideas to begin a brand-new chapter in our story. This new moon in Cancer wants us to expand on that new chapter in our story by really, truly believing in the abundance we will experience in this new chapter. It wants us to connect with others through a culture of care. Jupiter brings the energy of belief to any other energy it touches. What are you leaping towards right now in full faith that it will work out better than you could even imagine right now?
