Tomorrow, we welcome the full moon in Scorpio at 12:55 pm ET. It is happening at 22 degrees of Scorpio. If you have any placements in fixed signs (Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, Leo) near this degree, (between 19-25 degrees) you will feel the impact of this full moon quite personally. For example, I have my Descendant angle at 24 degrees of Scorpio and my South Node and Saturn at 25 degrees of Scorpio. I also have my Taurus Ascendant at 24 degrees and my Leo moon at 23 degrees. Everyone feels the energy of the full moon, but when our natal placements are activated, it brings attention to the impact of that planet or point in our personal experience of the full moon. Make sure to check your chart!
I have known for a while that this full moon would feel quite personally activating for me. All week, I felt the energy building internally and externally. To be honest, it has not felt comfortable. I have had a lot of fears come up and have released a lot of tears. If you have felt the same, I am sending love your way. This full moon energy feels like being forged in the fire. It is illuminating the need for necessary transformation, while unearthing fears and hidden truths for us to face. The kind of fears and truths that can’t stay buried any longer. It is encouraging us to face fear and truth head on so we can evolve, break patterns, and step into our power.
This full moon brings attention to Scorpio themes of change, transformation, truth, power, mystery, healing, and intimacy. Scorpio is a fixed water sign linked with our deep emotional realms. It is a sign known for its ability to alchemize and transform. This Scorpio full moon is directly connected to the new moon in Scorpio which occurred on November 1, 2024. What has grown for you since November, especially regarding the life areas ruled by Scorpio in your chart? What are some realizations or turning points you have experienced in the last 6 months? What have you released? What is being illuminated for you right now?
It is important for us to consider that the moon is in its fall when in Scorpio. This means the moon struggles to express its energy in the most positive way. The moon wants to be emotionally nurturing which is why it thrives in the signs of Taurus and Cancer. Scorpio full moons are known for being emotionally intense. The Scorpio lunar energy calls for an emotional death and rebirth. Sounds uncomfortable, right? With the sun in earthy and grounded Taurus, sitting opposite the moon, we need to be willing to get uncomfortable to grow. Remember the new moon in Taurus on April 27? It was all about initiating necessary transformation. Now that energy is being fully illuminated. There’s no turning back now.
BREAK IN, BREAK OUT, BREAKTHROUGH
This full moon is opposing (challenging) Uranus in Taurus. It supports us to break free and embrace change, even if the roots that tether us may run deep. It is also making a trine aspect (harmonious) to the North Node and Saturn in Pisces. It supports us in embracing change so we can move towards what is meant for us right now and commit to it. It is ruled by Mars, currently in Leo. It supports us with facing our fears and self-expressing with the courage and the heart of a lion. Yes, this could and should involve some roaring. Mars is making a trine aspect with Venus in Aries. It supports us to courageously seek our heart’s desires. Pluto is another planet modernly associated with Scorpio. It is currently retrograde in Aquarius and is squaring (challenging) Mercury in Taurus. It supports our review of internal and external power structures. It may expose some truths that help us consider how we can wield our own personal and collective power to support our hopes and dreams for the future and our communities.
The cosmic energy surrounding this full moon points to facing fear, uncertainty, shame, and struggle. It will likely illuminate conflict externally and/or internally. This is not the time to run away from these experiences. We really need to be present and sit with them. I know that’s not what you likely want to hear. I haven’t necessarily enjoyed doing this work either, but I know it must be done right now. This is because what waits on the other side is freedom and power. Freedom from stagnancy, shame, past patterns, and pain. Freedom from feeling disempowered. Important truths are being illuminated for us right now. These truths may feel uncomfortable, but they are revealing what NEEDS to change and what is ready to be eliminated so we can fully move into this next chapter of our lives. This energy deeply wants us to evolve and own our power in some way.
I encourage you to take a moment to consider what this full moon is asking you to unearth and courageously face in your personal life. When we sit with truth and meet discomfort head on, we can release pain we have carried for far too long in our hearts and minds. Pain we have suppressed. Pain steeped in fear and uncertainty about the future and what it could hold because we can’t see or sense it. Pain that is ready to be alchemized. Pain that is ready to turn into power.
This full moon wants us to lean into vulnerability. Have the talk. Feel the feelings. Journal it out. Let the truth be revealed even if your response to it is, “I’m scared to let go”, “I’m scared to trust.” or “I’m scared to change.” Consider how facing fear can be a catalyst for change. Give up the ghosts that have been haunting you by acknowledging them and speaking with them. Release the patterns of behavior that are keeping you stuck in a cycle you know you don’t want to repeat any longer. A cycle that is meant to end so you can begin again with a sense of power and authenticity. What identities have you outgrown but still perform? What are you suppressing or trying to hide? It is coming up from the underworld for your review for a reason.
Breakthroughs are very possible right now. For a breakthrough to occur, we must first break in. We must face what has been lying under the surface of our awareness which the full moon is happy to illuminate for us. For our experiences to change, we must commit to the deep inner work that helps change manifest. Through this inner work, we can begin to break out of stagnancy, patterns, and ruts. We begin to access new mindsets and a new sense of personal power.
For a breakthrough to occur, our minds must be renewed so we can cultivate new patterns of behavior that bring us closer to our desires. Most of the time, this kind of break in and break out work feels like a Tower moment. However, the Tower usually signals a crisis that is a blessing in disguise. The breakthrough is the advancement and evolution that occurs when we choose to break in and break out. When we choose to face our discomfort, we are simultaneously sitting in our power and choosing freedom.
I had a really hard time finding the energy to write about this full moon because of the intensity I have been feeling all week as the moon grew in light towards fullness. I spent a lot of the week crying and feeling anxious. The ghosts of fears I thought I had worked through came back to visit me once again. Healing is a spiral, isn’t it? I had something revealed to me that I had to deal with unexpectedly so I could support someone close to me. I also was grappling with the fear that I wouldn’t be able to get this post out in time to support all of you as we move through this lunar energy. However, I had a moment on Friday when I chose to face fear, break a pattern, and sit in my power. I felt some of the intensity break. By breaking in and out, I know I am getting closer to my breakthrough. Now I am sitting here writing and recording this for you. I hope you have found it helpful.
